About Flower Child Botanicals

My fur babies, Dex (R) and Dora (L)

When I was growing up, there were certain things guaranteed to make me cry, no matter how hard I tried not to: When Bambi’s mother died, and when animals were killed or died on Wild Kingdom. And you know what? I still can’t stand it and have to change the channel during those commercials that show abused animals.

As an animal lover, I wanted to create a cruelty-free skincare and beauty line which happens to be vegan. But… I want to emphasize my firm belief that vegan products aren’t just for vegans. Let’s face it – none of us are perfect. While we all may try to strive to a certain ideal, we often fall short of those standards. But instead of taking an “all-or-nothing” stance we may find impossible to achieve, maybe it’s time to recognize that every little step we take for a particular belief or ideal is worthy of praise, and our focus should be on those tiny steps toward success rather than that black-and-white, all-or-nothing, success-or-fail mindset.

Does that make sense? I guess what I’m saying is while many may not be currently adhering to a strictly cruelty-free diet and lifestyle, every step we take in that direction is worthwhile of our pursuit. That’s why I say vegan isn’t just for vegans anymore. Every step we take to reduce animal cruelty takes us closer to a world where we inflict less pain on others, whether they be animals, or they be humans who may be different from us.

And I think that now more than ever, in this current climate we’re living in, anything that promotes kindness in any form is something we should embrace.

That includes embracing vegans, vegetarians, and yes, even carnivores. If you can’t give up bacon, you can at least find cruelty-free vegan skincare products that are, in my biased opinion, utterly awesome. And will leave you with a clear conscience.

So, I invite you to take another step toward a vegan and cruelty-free lifestyle with me. The animals — and your skin — will thank you for it.

Love and Light,

Diana

PS. Five percent of all proceeds go to ASPCA to stop animal cruelty. So you get double the good karma of cruelty-free beauty products and helping stop other animals from suffering.
